CHAPTER HISTORY

The ASHRAE Orange Empire Chapter serves HVAC&R professionals throughout Orange County and surrounding Southern California communities. As a local chapter of ASHRAE (founded in 1894), the Orange Empire Chapter advances the Society’s mission to serve humanity by advancing the arts and sciences of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and building systems.

 

Established to support the rapidly growing commercial and industrial development of Orange County, the Chapter has become a leading regional resource for technical education, professional networking, and industry leadership. From early mechanical system design discussions to today’s focus on high-performance buildings, electrification, decarbonization, indoor air quality, and smart building technologies, the Chapter has continually evolved alongside the industry.

 

  • Over the years, the Orange Empire Chapter has:

  • Hosted monthly technical meetings featuring subject matter experts

  • Supported student branches and emerging professionals

  • Provided continuing education opportunities for engineers and contractors

  • Promoted ASHRAE standards and guidelines, including energy efficiency and sustainability best practices

  • Fostered collaboration between consulting engineers, contractors, manufacturers, building owners, and automation professionals

 

Today, the Chapter continues to champion innovation in sustainable building design and operations, supporting Southern California’s leadership in energy efficiency, environmental responsibility, and advanced building technologies.

 

Through education, advocacy, and professional development, the ASHRAE Orange Empire Chapter remains committed to shaping the future of the built environment in Orange County and beyond.
